Odyssey Soft Tissue Laser
The Laser is used for many things, including but not limited to recontouring the gum tissue, greatly enhancing the appearance of the smile. Symmetry is just as important with gum tissue as it is with teeth.
The procedure can mean the difference between a good looking smile enhancement and a great smile enhancement. Tissue modification is performed in the office during the restorative procedure, and is both predictable and fast in regards to healing.
Also, other procedures allow us to quickly and painlessly treat deep periodontal pockets found in gum disease, remove excess gum tissue related to gum disease and remove fibrous tissues that can cause spaces between the front teeth.
Some of the other procedures that can be performed with a soft tissue laser include:
- crown lengthening
- preparation for dental impressions
- sculpting prior to dental implants
- treatment of ulcers in the mouth
- biopsy and removal of benign oral tumors
- abscessed tooth care
- frenum release
- exposing new teeth, including wisdom teeth, that are slow to erupt through the gum tissue
- treating overgrowth of gum tissue
- lessening the pain of cold sores and fever blisters/canker sores and shortening the duration of these flare ups
