Dr. Kersta Peterson

Dr Peterson has owned and operated the dental clinic in Kanata since February 1999.

Dr Peterson graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Science degree, and then went on to Halifax, Nova Scotia to complete her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Dalhousie University in the spring of 1994.

Dr Peterson is a past or present member of the Ontario Dental Association (ODA), Canadian Dental Association (CDA), American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), International Association of

Orthodontics (IAO), Crown Council, International Association of Comprehensive Aesthetics (IACA), International College of Cranio-Mandibular Orthopedics, (ICCMO).

Dr Peterson has spent several years training at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, which is recognized as the premier post-graduate facility in the world for learning the art and science of neuromuscular and esthetic dentistry.

She is currently spending her time continuing her neuromuscular training, with an emphasis now in orthodontics, at the Center for Occlusal Studies in West Virginia.

She is a strong believer in providing the best possible dental care she can, so she takes hundreds of hours of continuing education and training every year. Courses are in the areas that she focuses on the most, including neuromuscular dentistry, cosmetic and comprehensive/reconstructive dentistry, neuromuscular orthodontics, treatment of TMD (jaw joint) disorders, lasers, snoring and sleep apnea to name a few.

The practice is a very important part of her life, but she enjoys time out of the office with her family. Also she is very fond of her dog and horse. She is a sports enthusiast, enjoying running, playing ultimate Frisbee, going to the gym, and watching her favorite hockey team, the Ottawa Senators.
